Unfolding Heritage is a 12-minute documentary-style piece showcasing the amazing people and projects funded by the Local Heritage Grant Scheme in Torbay.
Working alongside the talented Amanda Bluglass (director) and Jake Cauty (camera & editor), we set out to tell a story that went beyond funding and forms.
We wanted to get to the heart of what heritage means when it’s powered by community.
Thanks to photographers Beccy Strong and Annemieke Goldswain-Hein , we created a striking gallery of headshots, showing the range of people who took part. School kids. Artists. Archaeologists. Local business owners. Rock-obsessed creatives. History lovers. Many people who’d never applied for funding before but were encouraged and supported to make their ideas real.
All of this set within the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark, the golden thread, and very foundation of the culture and identity that makes this place so special.
This project reminded me how powerful film can be. This film is uplifting, showcasing the place, people and creativity authentically. What an incredible community and what stories they tell!
